The Fulham Irish Story

Club History

Fulham Irish GAA Club was formed in early 2006 by John Doyle (Carlow), Liam Barry (Limerick) and Michael Rice (Kerry) with the express intention of being London’s most central GAA club to attract the playing talent from the city of London.

The first year saw the club in the Intermediate football grade, winning the London & Provincial Championship of Britain before ending the season with an All-Ireland Junior Club quarter-final defeat to Killala of Mayo. The Senior football team has operated at Senior level since 2007, winning four Senior Championship titles  in 2011, 2017, 2020 and 2023.

To satisfy demand, a Fulham Irish reserve football team was added in 2007. This team allows players with less time to be given the opportunity to play games and be competitive in games.

Hurling and ladies football followed in 2008, both teams bringing success to the club over the years. Hurling continues to be a thriving part of the club, but ladies football ceased following the 2016 season.

2023 saw the formation of the youth side of the club with immense success. The youth section is driven entirely by previous and current players with more than 100 children registered to play every Sunday morning and take part in the various blitz activities organised by London. This initiative will continue to grow over the next seven years to give Fulham Irish GAA full coverage across every underage group in London.

Fulham Irish GAA Club is supported by numerous sponsors across the various teams and, without this support, it would be difficult to provide the facilities and environments required to provide coaching in a responsible and safe manner.
